Hello Classmates!

Since graduation 50 years ago, I immediately became employed with O-I. After several years of employment, I decided to obtain my Bachelor's degree and graduated in 1996 from Lourdes College. My entire O-I career was centered in Human Resources; ie. College Recruiting (I married an O-I recruit), Management Development, and I was Manager of Salary Compensation when I retired in 2006. This was not a career I could have ever envisioned, and I feel very blessed to have achieved 40 years of service with O-I.

I met my husband Jim at O-I when I worked in College Recruiting, He was the outgoing handsome Syracuse University graduate my boss had recruited. We have been married for 45 years ... the years have been blessed ..even through the valleys. Jim is always upbeat and encouraging to me.
We were not blessed with children according to God's plan for us, and we trust in His divine care and plan.

We have traveled on the Canadian Rocky Montaineer, visited Hawaii, and recently returned from a cruise to Norway and a trip to Iceland.

Since retirement, I took a three year diocesan ministry course. I give of my time as I can (too much Jim would say) and volunteer at my parish, St. Joan of Arc, as System Ministry Coordinator, and I will be installed as President of the Toledo Catholic Council of Women at our Fall Convention.

I had a simple plans in mind when I graduated 50 years ago. I could have never projected the 50 year journey since graduation. Only by the grace of God ...

Blessings to all of my fellow classmates!

School Story:

My friend Sue Kanthak Jones and I left Central in our junior year and decided to attend Bowsher...so I was only at Bowsher for a year and a half, but knew a lot of kids from the neighborhood.

When of my dearest friends, who I met at Bowsher, is Sondra Zapf Alexander. Sondra has a heart of gold and is one of the most caring people I know. She and I sat across from each other in Mr. Mall's class. We giggled as much as we could in that class as Mr. Mall was an excellent teacher and never missed a beat. He taught us well.

The only amusing story I can think of was selling tickets for a stage production and not keeping track of the sales stubs or something weird like that. I guess Bowsher survived, and there were no fights over double seating (but I worried). I think I was intimidated by being in that ticket window with the bars.
